There are beautiful soft blues, grays and a touch of antique gold, seam binding, water-colored leaves, vintage florals and faux postage....oh so many lovely elements we can select from to create a project.

For my dear friends 45th Anniversary card, I chose the blue/white color scheme, leaves, flowers and postage stamp :-)

It's a fabulous opportunity to CASE something made by one of these talented ladies! πŸ’“

I went with this sweet card created by Heather Nichols:

Heather's inspiration

My card ~
I tried to duplicate the colors Heather used and her beautiful design and used my Song Bird stamps/dies. I do love the larger sized bird and branch in this new "Give Love" set. :-)
This will be a birthday card for my friend who is an amazing photographer and bird watcher.

Combining Stenciling and Masking

Betsy is hosting this week's MIM challenge, combining two classic techniques ~ stenciling and masking, for a striking one-layer effect.
See the video and her gorgeous cards HERE

I probably could have used a smaller frame stencil for this stamp set(?)  In my head, I thought I would use leaves and flowers for this technique...
Okay, I will just have to do that on the next card. 😁

This is the frame stencil I made

Building Wreaths With Small Images

Okay, Lizzie is up on MIM this week and she is demonstrating how easy it is to create a stamped wreath using small flowers, leaves, and accents. You can watch her video and see her sweet card HERE.

I typically don't like pulling out a bunch of stamps to use this technique, mainly because I don't clean and put back the stamps I use immediately after using them.
I know! Gasp, right😱!

Well, on the other hand, it's hard for me to NOT join in the MIM challenges ~ so here is my card.

Most of the flowers are from Song Birds stamped onto Stamper's Select White cardstock.  The base card is embossed with Cuttlebug's 'Divine Swirl'.

Pantone Chip Inspired Cards

Lexi is up for this week's Make It Monday Challenge.  She is inspiring us with the layout and color matching possibilities of Pantone ink chips!

I was not sure I would have time to make a card and post this week, but I had a little sailboat from What The Doodle: Waves already colored in from another project I started and decided to go with a Coral paint chip from my vast collection πŸ˜€~ cut it down to a 2X2 square and pop it onto Stamper's Select white cardstock panel then tape it to a Navy card base.

My Card ~
Love that beautiful ombre glass in the photo and I, of course, was inspired to create a "glass" effect using my mason jar, Spectrum Noir Markers and Glossy Accents.
I swiped some Distress Stain on the background of the base card before adhering all of my die cuts to the top
I had to stamp/die cup my Peonies on Parade for this creation and added a little Wink of Stella on each flower.  πŸ˜‰

Creative With Stamps

The Design Team for
 "Creative With Stamps"
has created another card to share with you
Mid Month for our June challenge~Fruit

Click on photo for more details

My Card ~
This "sweet" image is from Hero Arts, it was part of a prize I won from a Birthday celebration drawing held by one of my fellow team mates ~ do you remember this stamp? 😊
Hint:  I also got yummy German chocolate in my gifty package!

I colored in all the cherries/flowers/leaves with Spectrum Noir markers and added touches of Stickles here and there.
The yellow gingham paper is from DCWV and just seems to go with fruit images. πŸ˜‹  The embossing folder is Basket-weave from Darice and the sentiment was printed on vellum. The dyed binding ribbon was from another blog hop win.  Oh, that cute bee is a button that I have been hoarding for a few years now.
I made the matching envelope out of that same gingham paper.

You can check out the cards from my fabulous team mates and all of the entries from everyone so far  HERE.
You have until the end of June to enter our Challenge #15.
Hope you will join in the challenge and be eligible to win some prizes from our fun Sponsors.
Just be sure to read through the few  "Rules" and have FUN!

 Baby Wipe Inking

Joining Ashley for this week's MIM and discovering a fun way to use  reinkers and baby wipes  creating interesting backgrounds and patterns. You can watch her video HERE and play along.

Click on photo for more details
My Card ~
I used Ashley's 'flower' design with the rolled up baby wipe to create my background~I messed up a couple of dabbings, so the paper had to be cut on the diagonal before adhering it to the Raspberry base card😏, the leaves from the Botanical Letters were the perfect size for my little rosettes.  I die cut the Cover Plate-Butterfly from Stamper's Select White and used only 2 of the butterflies in the frame (hard to see in the pic, but I slathered on couple shades of  Spectrum Noir Sparkle for some glitter action on those butterflies). This is going to be an Anniversary card, so I added the Swoosh sentiment and, of course... some bling πŸ˜‰

 Coordinating Card Pairs

This week, Stephanie shares her tips for how to create a pair of coordinating cards that are very different designs but use the exact same supplies.
WOW, what beautiful creations from Stephanie and all of you posting out there in Blog-land! Check out the video and add your card HERE.

My Card ~
Finally inked up my Botanical Letters. :-)
Used the same stamps, cardstock, score lines, embossing folder (on the base card) but added the ribbon to the white-on-blue for a tad more feminine look.  I think I could use the blue-on-white as a masculine thank you, maybe (?)

Creative With Stamps

Wow!   It's June 1st already!  We are approaching the middle of 2017 ~ is anyone else surprised at how fast time slips by?
Well, you know that one of the things that happens on the first of each month is there's a new challenge at Creative With Stamps so let's just focus on that happy thought πŸ˜‰.

This month we are putting "fruit" in the spotlight.
Have some fun and join us by creating and posting your cards.  Head over to the Creative With Stamps Blog, HERE and check out what my fabulous Design Team members have created for inspiration, then add your entries for a chance to win some fun prizes from our awesome sponsors!

I made this card for a new neighbor who is moving into the house across the street from me this month.
The Pineapple is a symbol of  welcome that dates back to Colonial days.  It was a prominent decoration on many New England area homes where I grew up and spent most of my life.

My Card ~
On the background  of my watercolor paper, I added Tim Holtz Distress Stains in a brushstroke fashion.  Three pineapples were stamped on top in black ink.  I colored and Sparkled (Wink of Stella) two more pineapples then fussy cut them to be popped up on the face of my card.

PS:  I thought my card needed a little something more (because I can never leave it be!) so I went back with  a few sequins and that seemed to help ;-)
What do you think?

 Felt Flowers

This week Monday means it's time for another fun tutorial and challenge over at Papertrey Ink from one of the very talented Design Team members!  Lizzie's is sharing her tips for creating felt flowers.  See her video HERE.
I've got lots of felt and some flower dies that may work, so I am going to give this challenge a try.  Although, I don't think I would use this embellishment on many of my cards, unless I use a padded envie or a box...the majority of my cards are mailed out of state.
